Yi Peng: A Celebration of Lights
This stunning display of lights is called, Yi Peng (Floating Lights Festival) is an annual Thai holiday held the 2nd month of the Thai Lanna calendar. The scenery itself is breathtaking, the amount of people with their lanterns gathered to celebrate. It’s truly one of the most amazing events that you can actually take part of. This is no ordinary light installation, it’s people that make this celebration of the lights special and involved. Everyone gathers together and has their very own lantern and ignite the flame that’s somewhat similar to a hot air balloon. Be sure to check out more photos of this spectacular event after the jump.
